I would just like to note that I have given up foods labeled low- and no-fat. I will no longer be buying into the idea that these foods are healthier for me than regular foods. They are not. (If you have a medical condition, keep using your doctors advice on these types of foods. There is no reason why I need them, but you might.) I will no longer be eating these types of foods. I can live without them.
A sensible diet with plenty of fresh produce is the best way to go and, if I cannot afford to eat this fresh produce, then I cannot afford to purchase special foods that are low- or no-fat.
I am using cost as a reason not to purchase the things we should be eating because I hear so many people complain that the fresh produce is too expensive, then watch them buy the more expensive weight-loss products. I will not be paying extra for the foods marketed by weight-loss companies. However, I will pay more for foods with less pesticides
Do you consider the low- and no-fat foods acceptable to your diet? We are all different, so reading about many opinions is a great way for people to get the information they need in order to make informed decisions about their weight-loss plan.
NOTE: I talked to my doctor about my plans before beginning, and always suggest that others do as well. I still go to her with any questions that I have. She was kind enough to suggest that I see a nutritionist at the beginning of my journey, which I dutifully did until I knew the facts that I needed to know.

Good day all! My name is Shannon Buck. I hail from a small town in Maine, where I am blessed to have the opportunity to work from home as a freelance writer. I am mom to Skye and Zowie, my wonderfully supportive daughters.
I am not happy with my appearance. I want to get back into at least a large.
When I first started losing weight, I weighed in at 279 pounds and wore a size 3x. I am now at a size 2x and, while I have accomplished much, I have gone backwards somewhat. Not too badly, as I am still wearing a size 2x, along with with some 1x.
This blog is an effort to help keep me on track with my fitness goals. My main goal is not necessarily weight-loss, but overall fitness, nutrition and health. I want to not only look better, but feel better as well.
Join me while I continue with my journey.
Warmest Wishes and Brightest Blessings,
YOU: On A Diet by Dr. Michael Roizen and Dr. Mehmet Oz
